ToCSAW_Launch1 coincide with moving to new 25,000 sq ft premises, D-Line, the Newcastle-based cable management specialists, launched the Cable Safety at Work Campaign.

As Paul Ruddick, D-Line Managing Director explained ‘There are 20 million workstations in UK, each with an average 20m of exposed cabling. That’s 400 meters of cable around our desks and under our feet! Despite extensive legislation, cables can be accidents waiting to happen – often with devastating consequences; yet cable-accidents are easily preventable using D-Line solutions’.

Items featured include strips to cover trailing cables across floors, products to organize clusters of cables, Cable Tidy Units for under desks, and accessories to sort cables on desktops.

Paul continued ‘Our products are designed for use where time safety and appearance matter. In the UK cables and plugs and extension sockets are the cause of nearly 3,000 fires annually, and one of the most common causes of 500 trips and falls per day. The Campaign will raise awareness of employers; and highlight our solutions’.

At a special reception to launch the Campaign James Ramsbotham (as picture), Chief Executive of North East Chamber of Commerce, commented ‘We applaud D-Line in their initiative. Because of its wide interest we trust the Cable Safety At Work Campaign will make an important contribution to Health & Safety in workplaces’.
