This is the main guidance source for matters relating to Health and Safety for employers. It describes in detail the required actions on the part of the employer to ensure the Health, Safety and Welfare of their employers and visitors. It is constantly being reviewed and updated but the main essence remains the same as when it was first introduced. Its requirements are enforceable by law.

Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999
Another document that is enforceable by law. The main area of interest here is the compelling of employers to carry out regular ‘suitable and sufficient’ risk assessments to ensure that he has taken any and all measures he needs to take to make the workplace as safe an environment to work in as is reasonably practically possible.

The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992
Very specific guidelines of what is expected on the part of the employer mainly in relation to the welfare aspects at all workplaces but with a link to all matters Health and safety related. Should be read in conjunction with HSW Act 1974 and HSW Management Regulations 1999.
